Trade school for estheticians expands to Baltimore County plaza
PRO+ Skin Academy, a licensed trade school for aspiring estheticians, has expanded with a new location in Hunt Valley‘s Executive Plaza after signing a lease with Baltimore-area real estate development company Hill Management Services Inc.
The lease gives PRO+ Skin Academy 3,479 square feet of space in Executive Plaza, a four-building, 550,000-square-foot mixed-use community located at 11350 McCormick Road.
Founded by Courtney Hare in 2023, PRO + Skin Academy, combines virtual learning environments with hands-on work experiences as students earn licenses to practice as skin, hair or nail professionals, according to a Hill Management release.
“We outgrew our first brick and mortar space after initially starting as a virtual-based school, and needed more room for our six staff members,” Hare said.
“Executive Plaza is more aesthetically-pleasing than our previous space, and that is something we pay close attention to given our industry sector. First impressions and outward appearances matter [greatly] in our socially conscious world. The facility features private classrooms and areas where our students are exposed to training, prior to being placed in a learning situation where they observe the operations and techniques of a professional.”
PRO+ Skin Academy’s esthetician program provides training and education for techniques used in skincare, lash and brow treatments, facials and hair removal. According to Hare, the school offers training in customer service, retailing, marketing and financial literacy, aiming to put graduates on a promising path to entrepreneurship.
Typically, 30 students are enrolled per semester, which lasts approximately six weeks, according to a release.
