Chicken restaurant chain Zaxbys coming to Salisbury

Zaxbys, one of the nation’s fastest-growing quick-service restaurant chains specializing in hand-breaded chicken fingers and much more, is coming soon to Wicomico County.

The new restaurant will be located along U.S. Route 13 in Salisbury, Maryland, just before entering the municipal limits of Fruitland, providing residents and travelers with another dining option along one of the county’s busiest commercial corridors.

Franchisee Curtis Snyder previously told Delmarva Now that the new Salisbury location will come to 1520 S. Salisbury Blvd., formerly home to Robinson’s Jewelers.

Founded in Georgia in 1990, Zaxby’s has has proliferated around the Southeast, growing to hundreds of locations across the United States. It has earned a loyal following for its made-to-order chicken meals, Zalads, wings, sandwiches and more.

“This is another great win for Wicomico County and our residents,” Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano said. “The addition of Zaxbys demonstrates that national brands recognize the strength of our local economy and the tremendous growth opportunities available here. Every new business investment creates jobs, expands consumer choice, and strengthens our tax base.”

“We are excited to welcome Zaxbys to Wicomico County,” she added.

Earlier this year, Giordano joined Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development representatives and othersat the International Council of Shopping Centers convention, where they met directly with numerous national retailers and restaurant brands interested in expanding into new markets, according to an Aug. 5 news release.

Zaxbys was among the companies visited by the county’s delegation during the ICSC conference. The county continues to build relationships with site selectors, developers and national retailers to attract additional businesses and create new opportunities for residents, the release stated.

“Wicomico County is open for business,” Giordano said. “Our administration remains committed to creating an environment where businesses can succeed, invest, and grow. We look forward to welcoming Zaxby’s and continuing to bring new employers, restaurants, and retail opportunities to our community.”

An exact grand opening date for Zaxbys‘ Salisbury location has yet to be announced.

Zazbys held its ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration on Dec. 1, 2025, in Cambridge, and just recently opened another location in Easton on July 13, 2026. Still in the works is a Zaxbys restaurant planned for Berlin.
