Planet Fitness opens PG County location

Planet Fitness on Monday announced the opening of one of its newest clubs in Maryland, located in Upper Marlboro.

The Prince George’s County location spans 11,000 square feet and is located in the former Petco space at Osborne Shopping Center at 7609 Crain Highway. The gym is open and staffed 24/7, according to a news release. 

Ohana Growth Partners LLC, headquartered in Baltimore, is one of the largest Planet Fitness franchisees in the U.S., owning and operating more than 95 clubs in six states, including Maryland and Washington, D.C. The new franchise is the company’s 24th in the area.

Planet Fitness Upper Marlboro offers members the following amenities:

• Free weights, strength machines and plate-loaded bench presses, hack squats and a seated calf machine.
• 30-plus pieces of cardio equipment.
• Functional training room including a turf for agility training.
• High-intensity interval training area with air bikes and rowers.
• Mobility and stretching space.
• Black Card Spa with HydroMassage loungers, massage chairs and more – for PF Black Card members
• Free WiFi and TVs with wireless connections to cardio equipment.

“Planet Fitness Upper Marlboro is designed to elevate the workout experience for all fitness levels,” OGP President Justin Drummond said in the release.

Planet Fitness memberships include free fitness training, access to strength and cardio equipment, and the free Planet Fitness App that features on-demand digital exercises.
