has teamed up with The Huffman Family Foundation to announce the start of on The Huffman Family Performance Center, the school announced Tuesday.

The $800,000 project is set to transform existing space in Keelty Hall into a state-of-the-art facility that will support academic and athletic excellence, according to a release.

Locker room space within Keelty Hall adjacent to the Alumni Memorial Gymnasium will be reimagined into a multi-purpose facility with three distinct areas, including an 80-seat lecture hall that will serve as additional classroom space during the academic day and team meeting space for the afternoons and evenings. 

“As a mother and President of The Huffman Family Foundation, I am always seeking opportunities to create a lasting and meaningful impact on the lives of young people,” Dawn Huffman said in a statement. 

“The Calvert Hall community holds a special place in our family’s heart. Richie and I are excited to continue returning to this amazing school and witnessing the positive influence this project will have on generations of students.”

In addition, Calvert Hall’s golf program will get a dedicated golf training area that will serve as a year-round development resource. The Huffman Family Sports Performance Center will also include modernized locker room facilities for physical education classes and athletic teams, according to a release.

Made possible through support from Richie and Dawn Huffman and The Huffman Family Foundation, the construction project reflects the school’s commitment to enhancing the student experience, a Calvert Hall release says.

“We are grateful for the extraordinary generosity of The Huffman Family Foundation. Richie and Dawn understand firsthand the lifelong impact of a Calvert Hall education through the experiences of their sons,” Calvert Hall President John Kane said.

“Their investment in this visionary new addition will make an immediate and lasting impact on our students, faculty, and future generations of Cardinals.”

School officials said the construction project is expected to culminate prior to the start of the 2026–2027 academic year.
