Lawyer sentenced for distributing child pornography

A disbarred Baltimore lawyer was sentenced to five years in prison late Wednesday for distributing .

David Bart Goldstein, 55, received the jail sentence in Baltimore’s as part of a plea agreement that includes five years probation after his release. Goldstein must also register as a sex offender after his release.

Goldstein was disbarred by consent on May 3, 2011.

He was charged after an undercover agent in Newark, N.J., noticed that Goldstein had logged into a file sharing site and was sharing 1,476 videos and photos. The agent downloaded 22 images and six videos from Goldstein’s collection. The downloads all contained minors engaging in sexually explicit acts.

The agent had been working as part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice program created to find and prosecute child pornographers using the Internet.
