On the Move, 1/20: DeVaul promoted by Md.-National Capital Park Police

Antonio DeVaul has been promoted to captain and named the assistant chief, Field Operations Branch for the Maryland-National Capital Park Police, Montgomery County Division. DeVaul is a 16-year veteran who has served in both the Montgomery and Prince George’s County Divisions of the Park Police, most recently as a patrol commander. Awards he has received include Patrol Officer of the Year, the Bronze Star for Life Saving, and the Silver Star for Heroism. DeVaul has attended the FBI-LEEDA Executive School, the POLEX-Penn State Executive Development School and the Impact Silver Spring Neighborhood Leadership Program.

Accounting
Mary Beth Norwood, CPA and principal with Reznick Group, has been named the Baltimore office’s co-managing principal. She has been in public accounting for 22 years, including 17 with Reznick Group. In 2003, Norwood relocated from Baltimore to Sacramento, Calif., to help open Reznick Group’s first West Coast office; she also served as the audit professional practice leader for the office. She returned to the Baltimore office in 2007. Norwood received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Mount Saint Mary’s University.

Awards
Martin Proctor, senior vice president of energy policy at Constellation Energy, will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award during the 25th annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Global Competitiveness Conference in February. In his 24 years with Constellation Energy he has held critical positions in nuclear engineering, energy sales and trading, and energy policy. Proctor has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and an M.B.A. from George Washington University. He is chairman of the board of Partners in Excellence Program in Baltimore and an executive sponsor of the Constellation African American Network.

Continuing Care
Diana Klug has joined The Village at Carsins Run, in Aberdeen, as a retirement counselor. Klug will be part of the marketing team for Harford County‘s first continuing care retirement community, to be constructed adjacent to Ripken Stadium. The Presbyterian Home of Maryland, a faith-based not-for-profit organization that has been providing care to seniors in Baltimore since 1883, is developing The Village at Carsins Run. Klug began her career as a construction, design, and project coordinator for a custom homebuilder. She later was sales director for Sunrise Senior Living/Fox Hill Senior Living in Bethesda. Most recently, Klug served as director of community relations at Sunrise Senior Living/Bedford Court, in Silver Spring.

Finance
Michael Bartelle has been hired as vice president, overseas operations, by Andrews Federal Credit Union, of Suitland. Bartelle served in the U.S. Army for 30 years, retiring as Command Sergeant Major for the Allied Command Operations, SHAPE/NATO, Belgium. He previously was a senior management analyst with Lockheed Martin Corp.

Nonprofits
David Jonas has been named special events coordinator of the Casey Cares Foundation, a nonprofit charity based in Baltimore that provides programs for critically ill children. Jonas has 12 years of special event experience working with the United States Navy Memorial, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
