SAIC awarded contract for Fort Detrick work

SAIC Inc., of McLean, Va., a government services contractor, announced it was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity to provide information technology services in support of the U.S. Army Medical Research & Materiel Command.

The single-award, firm-fixed-price contract has a one-year base performance period, four one-year options, and a total contract value of approximately $16 million if all options are exercised.

Work will be performed at Fort Detrick in Frederick County, and will involve SAIC providing essential information technology services to support clinical research in the development of FDA-regulated drugs, vaccines, biologics and devices.
