Maryland’s set a record for monthly revenue in August, and with only six days of operation Horseshoe Baltimore took 7 percent of the cash.

The state’s five casinos generated $80.6 million in the month of August, the state Lottery and Gaming Control Agency reported Friday.

Horseshoe brought in $5.7 million during August, despite being open less than a week. It got more money in that timespan than did in the entire month.

As usual, Maryland Live Casino brought in the most money, $57.3 million. brought in $7.4 million, got $5.9 million, and Rocky Gap brought in $4.3 million.

None of them appeared to show major changes in revenue from July.

If Horseshoe continued at last week’s pace, it could make more than $28 million a month.
