Transportation secretary Buttigeig to keynote inaugural iMPACT Maryland event

U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg will serve as a keynote speaker at the inaugural iMPACT Maryland event, a program created to gather top voices and leaders from across the region to address the most important policies and issues affecting the entire region.

The event, hosted by the Baltimore Banner, is scheduled for Oct. 10 from 8:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, at 1212 Cathedral St. in Baltimore.

The daylong, immersive event will include panel discussions featuring the region’s most distinguished thought leaders on topics such as transportation, education, health care, economic development, public safety, sports, innovation and more.

Gov. West Moore is also expected to deliver a keynote address along with Buttigeig. Other panel speakers will include Kevin Plank, founder and executive chairman of Under Armour; Calvin Butler, president and CEO of Exelon; Troy A. LeMaile-Stovall, CEO of TEDCO; Neil M. Meltzer, president and CEO of LifeBridge Health; Dr. E. Albert Reece, dean emeritus and endowed professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine; Kelly Schulz, CEO of Maryland Tech Council; David Simon, author, journalist and television writer/producer; as well as other civic, business, community, education and leaders.
