An Orioles’ World Series championship could get you a lot of free furniture
Listen to this articleBaltimore furniture retailer Overstock Outlet Furniture Store wants to celebrate a Baltimore Orioles’ World Series championship … and give away hundreds of thousands of dollars in furniture at the same time.
In a show of hometown pride and support, the retailer will offer 100% refunds on all purchases made between July 19 and Aug. 19 if the Orioles win the 2024 World Series. Going into action on Friday night, the Orioles (68-48) were tied with the New York Yankees for the lead in the American League East division.
Other companies nationwide have tried this promotion and in 2017, fans got to cash in on their purchases. Jim McIngvale, owner of Gallery Furniture in Houston and better known as “Mattress Mack,” pledged to refund customers who paid at least $3,000 for mattresses and beds if the Astros won the World Series. After the team defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in seven games, the Texas businessman made good on his promise, paying out more than $10 million in rebates.
