T. Rowe Price Group has officially opened its new 550,000-square-foot global headquarters at Harbor Point in Baltimore.

“Our new global headquarters reflects our continued investment in our associates,” said Rob Sharps, chair, CEO, and president of T. Rowe Price. “The space has been thoughtfully designed to enhance collaboration and enrich the associate experience, enabling our ability to deepen our value to — and our connection with — our clients.”

T. Rowe Price associates began moving into the new global headquarters at 1307 Point St. this week, with a full transition expected in the coming weeks. A spokesperson for the company said the headquarters will serve 2,000 employees.

The company’s announced plans to relocate from Baltimore’s central business district to Harbor Point came as a relief to the city’s political and business community, which had feared T. Rowe might relocate out of the city. Still, the move also reflected the continuing migration from the traditional core business district to the eastern edge of downtown, a trend that has been eased somewhat by the shift of thousands of state employees to downtown offices from the State Center.

T. Rowe Price’s new global headquarters offers a dynamic, campus-like environment, officials said. The two-tower, seven-story building connected by a sun-filled glass atrium, was designed with connection, sustainability, and community engagement in mind.

The LEED-certified building also includes bespoke meeting spaces, a client conference center, an auditorium, floor-to-ceiling windows providing ample natural light and panoramic views of the harbor, and a rooftop terrace.

“We are proud to welcome associates to our new headquarters,” said Amy Beall, head of corporate real estate & workplace strategy for T. Rowe Price. “With state-of-the-art amenities, our new space elevates connected experiences while providing additional choice in work settings for collaboration, social, and break spaces for our associates. This move will enable us to further enhance our collaborative culture and to attract and retain top talent.”

Armada Hoffler served as the construction manager and Beatty Development Group as the developer for the project. Kohn Pedersen Fox was the architect team for the base of the building and Beatty Harvey Coco the architect team for the remainder of the building. Baltimore-based Gensler served as interior designers for the project. Engineer teams included JDB Engineering and Allen + Shariff.
