McDaniel students compete for $5,000 prize in innovation challenge

Five students vied for a $5,000 top prize at the annual and Challenge on April 29, in Naganna Forum, Roj Student Center.

The finalists included Jaden Silverman with ASL Dictionary, Carter Shipley presenting Customizable Sport Soles, Sana Askari with Esheel, Axel Mendoza showcasing The Path of Mictlan and Bairon Flores with Wring.
Judges included TEDCO vice president Graham Dodge, McDaniel alum and entrepreneur Greg Merril and MAGIC executive director Kim Samuelson.

Each finalist participated in an eight-week training program with mentorship from alumni and faculty. All finalists who completed the requirements received $800.
