Harford County Chamber hosts 48th annual Military Appreciation Event
The Harford County Chamber of Commerce hosted its 48th annual Military Appreciation Luncheon on May 14 at Top of the Bay, Aberdeen Proving Ground. The event, presented by Freedom Federal Credit Union, centered on the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army and recognized Aberdeen Proving Ground’s dedication to national defense.
Chamber President & CEO Angela Rose opened the event, with County Executive Cassilly and Major General James D. Turinetti IV delivering remarks. Turinetti highlighted partnerships with Harford County Public Schools and Harford Community College for defense career education.
The event honored all military branches and 14 Gold Star families in attendance. Cadet Vargas from Freestate ChalleNGe Academy received a $1,000 APG Federal Credit Union scholarship. Barry Hebb of Apex Advertising received the Major General John G. Appel Award for community advocacy.
Aberdeen Proving Ground annually names a Non-Commissioned Officer and Soldier of the Year, who will be recognized at the Chamber’s November Spirit of Thanks event.
