Md. congressional delegation: FBI headquarters should go to Prince George’s County

Maryland’s entire congressional delegation — two U.S. senators and eight representatives, all but one of them Democrats — has sent letters to the heads of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and General Services Administration, strongly supporting a site in Prince George’s County as the location of a new FBI headquarters.

Noting that competition for a new FBI headquarters is becoming fierce, the letter states that several factors, including cost of operations, security, convenience of location for staff, transportation options, and regional equity in federal facility distribution, should make Maryland the location of choice for the FBI. Virginia and the District are also jockeying for the headquarters site.
