Kaiser, CareFirst top rankings

Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States and CareFirst CFMI came out on top among consumers in a rating of health benefit plans in the Maryland Health Care Commission’s 2014 Quality Report. Among seven health maintenance organizations in Maryland, Kaiser Permanente received the highest percentage of good rankings from members. In the survey, 81 percent of respondents rated Kaiser Permanente from 8 to 10 on a scale of 0 to 10. Among eight preferred provider organizations, CareFirst CFMI drew just under 80 percent. Coventry ranked last in both categories, at 51 percent for HMO and 42 percent for PPO.
