Howard County General offers COVID-19 testing in places of worship

Howard County General Hospital will offer free COVID-19 community testing in places of worship throughout Howard County. The first testing event will take place Sunday from 8 to 11 a.m. at Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal M.I. at 6798 Oak Hall Lane in Columbia.

Open to children and adults in the community, event registration is encouraged online at bit.ly/2Zh01FG. Participants will receive a phone call with their test results within 24 to 48 hours along with information and resources.

Howard County General Hospital works with faith groups in Howard County through the hospital’s Journey to Better Health program. Journey to Better Health provides free health screenings, classes and a Member Care Support Network to help Howard County residents take charge of their health by identifying, monitoring and managing their health conditions. The program is made possible through a grant from the Howard County Health Department.

Howard County General Hospital will hold additional COVID-19 community testing events at places of worship in the future.

The hospital has a professional staff of more than 1,000 physicians and allied health professionals, representing more than 100 specialties and subspecialties; a workforce of more than 1,800 individuals and more than 370 volunteers.
