Volta Industries Inc., a producer of electric vehicle (EV) charging networks, Tuesday announced it has reached a milestone of 100 charging stations installed across Maryland.

In partnership with the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) and Giant Food, along with local groups such as the Mall of  and Inner Harbor in Baltimore, there are now 100 sponsored Volta Charging stations available to Maryland EV drivers, giving them access to convenient and reliable charging. Volta Charging equipment incorporates marketing messaging on the charging station’s screens which allows the public to utilize the chargers at no cost.

Volta Charging has received financial assistance for 64 chargers at 22 locations throughout the state via MEA’s Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Rebate Program, which has helped incentivize the deployment of more than 5,000 residential and commercial charging stations across the state since 2014.

There are currently 74 Volta kiosks at Giant Food stores across its market area, according to Ira Kress, president of Giant Food.
