What is your most significant accomplishment?

One of my most significant accomplishments to date – and since I’m mid-career, the best is yet to come – is my 16-year career as a prosecutor. I’ve expressed this sentiment before through Facebook posts, Twitter updates, onstage, to my children and mom, but not to my husband (he would rather watch Investigative Discovery than listen to my war stories). But I’ll say it again: If iron sharpens iron, I started out as a butter knife.

However, thanks to the Baltimore City State’s Attorney Office, the Baltimore City Sitting Judges District and Circuit Bench, the Baltimore Defense Bar, the Baltimore jury pool, the courtroom clerks, the Baltimore Police Department, victims and witnesses, my family, and my friends – and the list goes on – I’m left this office as an obsidian, able to cut through metal like butter! The skills I’ve honed and the carefully curated network I’ve built are well preserved, travel with me, and my blueprint for my next chapter, a successful private practice at Pessin Katz Law.
