NAMI Metropolitan Baltimore‘s flagship mental health awareness event, LOUDER, held its annual award event and celebration April 17 at The Winslow in Baltimore.
This year’s gathering achieved significant success, raising nearly $150,000 to help fuel NAMI Metropolitan Baltimore’s ongoing efforts to enhance the lives of local individuals, families and communities affected by mental health conditions. Donations will enable the organization to continue to expand vital support groups, educational programs, and mental health services offered at no cost to the Baltimore community.
The event serves as a rallying point, recognizing individuals and companies that are committed to ending the stigma around mental health in Baltimore through NAMI Metropolitan Baltimore’s #IWillListenCampaign.
Mental health experts, advocates and allies from across the city united to honor this year’s recipients Angela Celestin, executive vice president and chief human resources officer at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield; and Robert Matthews, vice president and chief diversity, equity and inclusion Officer at Exelon.
Additionally, Goucher College was recognized with the #IWillListen Student Impact Award for its commitment to the campaign since 2018. Through innovative and engaging methods such as campus walks, fitness events and tailored workshops, Goucher College’s Counseling Center has initiated vital conversations about mental health among students, helping to end the stigma on its campus.
