LimeBike launches e-bike service in Baltimore
Lime, a shared electric vehicle company based in San Francisco, has launched LimeBike in Baltimore, the business announced along with Mayor Brandon Scott last week.
As the popular e-bike makes its way into Charm City, Lime hopes to expand reliable, inclusive and sustainable transportation options for residents and visitors. The company said it selected Baltimore to be one of the first cities in the country to officially launch the LimeBike “thanks to the city’s continued investments in new infrastructure, including protected bike lanes, designated parking and safer streets.”
LimeBike is Lime’s newest e-bike model. The company plans to deploy as many as 200 of the electric vehicles in Baltimore in the coming weeks.

“The arrival of Lime’s new LimeBike marks another step forward for sustainable transportation in Baltimore, and we are proud they chose our city for its debut,” Scott said.
“With over 2.1 million trips taken on dockless vehicles in the last 12 months, proving that micromobility is an integral part of our transportation infrastructure, we are confident that this new model will increase ridership and use of sustainable transportation in the city.”
This launch, according to company officials, reflects Lime’s broader investment in Baltimore for 2025, which includes fleet growth, new technology and operational improvements. The city leaders officially permitted the use of dockless vehicles, including Lime’s e-scooter and Spin’s e-bike and e-scooter, in 2019.
The announcement comes as Lime plans to launch more than 10,000 LimeGlider and LimeBike vehicles in nearly a dozen cities across Europe and North America over the coming months, company officials said.
