Jennifer L. Curry serves as managing shareholder of the Baltimore office at Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, while holding positions as a member of the firm’s Board of Directors and chair of the firm’s Labor & Employment Health practice.

In early 2023, Curry became managing shareholder of Baker Donelson’s Baltimore office, making history as the first woman to lead the office. This achievement brought significant responsibilities as Curry guided the firm through a strategic growth initiative while handling hurdles from COVID and general return-to-office transitions. She noted that her ability to handle these difficulties with empathy, strength and knowledge has been a testament to her leadership capabilities.

Curry has been instrumental in leading efforts within her firm and the Baltimore business community toward the revitalization of Downtown Baltimore. She spearheaded The Light of Baltimore Incubator at Baker Donelson, establishing a partnership with Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg Philanthropies and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses to support area small businesses. Through this program, Baker Donelson donated the entire 23rd floor of its Baltimore office to a diverse group of 30 small Baltimore businesses, providing office space, free printing, Wi-Fi, conference rooms and 40-person training rooms where they can host client meetings and training sessions.

In June 2024, Innovation Works was invited to lead the launch of the 2026 Small Business Incubator Cohort through collaboration with Baker Donelson and JPMorganChase.

This initiative provides business coaching and mentorship tailored to the needs of entrepreneurs and small business owners, facilitates access to financial and social capital through its affiliate Ignite Capital and curates workshops, networking opportunities and leadership development sessions to equip business owners with the tools needed for sustainable growth.

When discussing leadership lessons, Curry explained that having clear goals and expectations for careers is crucial for success. “Embrace life and cherish every moment,” she said. “Be prepared for anything and stay present, whether it be for clients, colleagues, friends or family.
