Heavy Seas Beer, Maryland’s largest craft , announced it will be partnering with B3 Beverage Co., an East Coast craft beverage platform.

With the addition of Halethorpe’s Heavy Seas Beer, B3 Beverage Co. brings together four independent breweries along the Northeast Corridor, also including Yards Brewing Co. (Philadelphia), Two Roads Brewing (Stratford, Conn.) and Bald Birds Brewing Co. (Audubon and Jersey Shore, Pa.).

Under the expanded B3 umbrella, the company strives to sustain an integrated beverage platform designed to advance production capacity, streamline operations, unlock broader distribution and accelerate innovation – all while strengthening the “individual legacy” of each partner brewery.

“The craft beer and beverage industry is at an inflection point. By combining resources, we create efficiency, scale, and reach that would be difficult for any one brewery to achieve on its own,” Heavy Seas founder Hugh Sisson said.

“This partnership gives each brand the ability to thrive while staying true to its roots. It’s a way to face future challenges together—stronger, smarter, and more sustainable.”

According to Heavy Seas, the partnership also makes way for category diversification as the brewery and B3 are exploring ways to promote non-alcoholic products, craft sodas and more.

Founded in 1995, Heavy Seas will be celebrating its 30th anniversary on Dec. 8. A celebratory event is scheduled for Dec. 6 at the brewery in collaboration with the Brewers Association of Maryland.

Sisson also announced plans to scale back his leadership duties with the business after being at the helm for three decades.

“In the words of Monty Python, I’m not dead yet! I’ll still be involved, but this is the right moment to step back from the day-to-day,” he said.
According to a release, Heavy Seas’ leadership transition will include marketing director Caroline Sisson; sales director Charlie Oxendine; brewmaster Chris Leonard; and production manager John Eugeni.
