Ex-postal worker admits to embezzling $43,000

GREENBELT — A former postal worker has pleaded guilty embezzling more than $43,000 from the Postal Service.

Fifty-nine-year-old Virgil Ball of Waldorf entered the plea Monday in in Greenbelt. He faces a maximum of 10 years in at sentencing on Oct. 31.

According to statements made in court, on Oct. 24, 2008, Ball kept made from other post offices for himself. The deposit envelopes contained more than $34,000 in cash and $9,000 in checks.
