A has been formally charged with a fourth-degree sex offense for allegedly inappropriately touching a member of the catering staff at his law firm’s holiday party.

Isaac M. Neuberger did not appear Friday in Maryland District Court on Patapsco Avenue in Baltimore. The case was transferred to Baltimore City Circuit Court, where Neuberger is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 13, according to court records. A second-degree assault charge initially filed against him has been dropped, court records show.

Neuberger, through his lawyer, has previously denied all charges against him. A fourth-degree sex offense is a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in prison, a fine of $1,000 or both.

The incident allegedly took place Dec. 12 at the Baltimore office of Neuberger, Quinn, Gielen, Rubin & Gibber P.A. The accuser, a 25-year-old male, filed a handwritten statement of charges in District Court in the hours after the incident.

According to that statement of charges, Neuberger struck up a conversation with the man while both were using urinals. As they finished, the man alleged, Neuberger first pushed him by the shoulder so they were facing each other, then told him about “exercises to keep my abdomen in shape” and touched him inappropriately.

The man did not know who Neuberger was at the time, but filed his statement of charges after his employer told him, according to the statement of charges.

Neuberger has practiced law in Maryland for almost 45 years. His practice focuses on business transactions and he is an adviser to senior management and boards of directors for a number of companies, according to his profile on Neuberger Quinn’s website.

Neuberger is represented by Joshua Treem, a partner at Brown Goldstein Levy LLP in Baltimore. Treem did not respond to requests for comment before press time Friday.
