ANNAPOLIS — A new poll in the Maryland attorney general’s race shows a tight race between Del. Jon Cardin and Sen. Brian Frosh.

Thursday’s Washington Post poll found Cardin with support from 26 percent of likely Democratic voters. Frosh was second with 20 percent, and Del. Aisha Braveboy was third with 13 percent.

The poll found that 40 percent of likely Democratic voters say they have no preferred candidate or are totally disengaged. That creates the possibility the race could swing either way before the June 24 primary.

The winner will face Republican Jeffrey Pritzker and Libertarian Leo Wayne Dymowski, who are unchallenged in the primary.

The poll of 1,202 Maryland residents was conducted from June 5-8 and has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
