Annapolis-based Roy Higgs International LLC has been selected as the architect for the port buildings at Türkmenbashi International Seaport.

The project, with a $1.5 billion budget, will be the largest seaport on the Caspian Sea. It will provide facilities for passenger and ferry traffic, container terminals and shipbuilding, according to a news release. The project is scheduled to be complete by December 2017.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with the talented developers at Gap İnşaat on another exciting project,” Roy Higgs said. “We have some remarkable design and execution plans that will make this an easy access port for countries trading along the Caspian Sea. I am thrilled to be designing the port buildings they will utilize.”
