Westminster is seeking proposals for a 187-acre former golf course gifted to the city.

An 18-member task force appointed by the city issued a request for letters of intent from qualified developers to design, develop and work in conjunction with the city to develop what was Wakefield Valley Golf Course.

The property consists of open space, clubhouse and banquet facilities, according to a news release from the city. The property also has banquet, restaurant and bar facilities.

A historic home, 11 city-owned ponds and 4.5 miles of trails and cart ways are also on the property.

Maintenance of the golf course was taken over by the city after it reached an agreement with its former owner, developer Richard Kress, in 2014, according to the Carroll County Times.
