ABOUT MELISSA HERBERT
Resides in:
Baltimore (Fells Point)

Continuing education and possesses multiple HR Certifications
If you had not chosen your current profession, what profession would you choose and why?
Probably a (struggling) artist. I love to draw, sketch and paint in my spare time. I consider myself creative and try to look at every situation/canvas from a different angle. Parallel to that, I enjoy the Performing Arts, and try to make it to a show once a year at the BSO, Hippodrome, and Vagabond Players.
Recent vacations:
I’ve traveled extensively this year to include Grenada, Aruba, Texas, Oregon, Florida, Georgia, and Illinois. I love to travel and believe it gives you perspective, as well as an opportunity to build relationships and learn different cultures. I plan on traveling to Machu Picchu, Peru before the end of the year, and to Livorno, Italy next year to visit family. I am hoping to bring back a few perfected dishes from both destinations as I love Peruvian and Italian cuisine. I have a feeling those two trips will be my ultimate favorite thus far, but if I had to pick today, I would say Grenada was my favorite vacation given the people, culture, and picturesque backdrop (I definitely plan on returning).
When I want to relax, I … :
I plan a trip (see a theme), do yoga, and/or spend time with friends and family.
Favorite movie:
I am big fan of Martin Scorsese’s movies and can watch “GoodFellas” over and over.
Favorite quotation:
“Let’s not make the easy difficult or the difficult impossible,” by Len Strom, former Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Black and Decker and former Executive Director of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Great words to live by and something I try to instill in my team when we embark on large initiatives.
