All Walks of Life

Floyd Taliaferro IV, has sought to strengthen communities and improve the lives of Maryland families and underserved communities by providing health care solutions for the past 15 years.

“I change lives,” says Taliaferro, CEO of All Walks of Life, an urban health care center specializing in behavioral health. “What makes me standout is that I do it ethically, purposefully and maintain the focus on community.

A proud graduate of Morgan State University, where he received his bachelor’s degree and master’s in social work, Taliaferro believes in giving back and “reaching back to move others forward.” He helped establish a fellowship program for masters of social work candidates at the institution that provides tuition, support and work experience at All Walks of Life. His company is also licensed to offer free continuing education courses for staff and behavioral health care professionals statewide.

Under his leadership, All Walks of Life has provided more than 5,500 hygiene items and 2,500 schools supplies to families and public school students every year. During the pandemic, Taliaferro spearheaded a public service campaign to encourage communities to adhere to CDC guidelines and has provided complimentary services to frontline healthcare workers.

“It was not easy to continue to operationalize or fund these endeavors during the pandemic, but I knew it needed to be done, because if not me, then who,” Taliaferro said.

The key to success is consistency and determination, Taliaferro says. This not only applies to himself as a leader but also his employees. Throughout his career, he has also devoted himself to leading training courses that encourage the promotion of equitable work environments for LGBTQIA, women and BIPOC employees.

“Equity is more than just issuing statements about systemic issues,” Taliaferro said. “Every chance I have, I emphasize that the changes for companies must go beyond being transactional and the commitment must be sincere.”
