MD eye care platform expands in Northern VA

Vision Innovation Partners, an Annapolis-based eye care platform with nearly 70 locations, announced its expansion after acquiring Ophthalmic Associates of Alexandria.

The acquisition marks VIP’s 27th add-on since its founding in 2017, the company said, joining its growing network of ophthalmology practices. 

Ophthalmic Associates of Alexandria, a comprehensive ophthalmology practice in downtown Alexandria, Virginia, was founded in 2010. The business provides eyecare and related medical treatments to patients in the area. 

Eye physician and surgeon Jacob Clark leads the practice, which offers various procedures, including eyeglass and contact lens fitting, laser surgery, and disease management for glaucoma and cataracts, according to a VIP release.

 “VIP is thrilled to welcome the team at Ophthalmic Associates of Alexandria,” VIP CEO Chris Moore said. 

“Dr. Clark has built a sought-after practice in one of our largest metro areas, augmenting our offerings in surgery and ophthalmic disease management as well as expanding access to premium lenses, retina care, and dry eye relief. VIP is a portfolio company of Gryphon Investors, a private investment firm. Clark said he was elated for the start of this new chapter.
