What about your leadership style has helped grow your career and how have you had to change your leadership role/style during the past year?

My leadership style has been consistent for the last 45 years, I am passionate and love what I do! I have always put a premium on ensuring that my staff was well-informed and grounded in our mission and purpose, and communicated thoughtfully and consistently with my staff and my clients for the best possible outcomes. This past year I’ve had to enhance my leadership efforts -not only in communicating thoughtfully and keeping staff and clients well-informed, but in making sure that my business stayed viable to ensure my staff and clients are well cared for now, and for the future.

As women leaders, it is our role to help grow the next generation of leaders. What advice can you share to help impact not only the younger generation but also the women who are trying to grow in their careers and create positive change?

My advice, from both personal and professional perspectives, is to be passionate about your career and volunteer goals, and believe in yourself and your ability to help others, whether they are your employees, clients, or community colleagues. Make sure to have a vision about where you want to be, then clearly communicate your vision to your staff, and empower them to help you achieve your vision! Also, ensure that you always appreciate your staff, clients, and colleagues, and let them know how valuable they are to the success of your business and other endeavors. Finally, be humble and kind!
