What are you doing to lead important change in your organization and/or Maryland?

During COVID, the unsettling feeling of not having a purpose has been difficult for many of us. However, being one of the founders of the MD Entertainment Industry Association, which formed as a direct result of COVID, has been a very rewarding experience. MEIA’s mission is to provide live music businesses a bridge to the other side of the pandemic. With no funds of its own, our group, who otherwise are competitors, teamed together and sourced $40 million to date in grant relief for fellow Marylanders. And our work is not over.

What advice can you share to help impact not only the younger generation but also the women who are trying to grow in their careers and create positive change?

Some tips for life after 40 years in business: successful communication starts with stating the conclusion first, remember leadership is demonstrated not announced, be humble give credit to others where credit is due — such a quick way to earn respect. Ask yourself each day: what have you done for someone else lately?
