What about your leadership style has helped grow your career and how have you had to change your leadership role/style during the past year?
I believe in servant-style leadership. There isn’t anything I would ask a team member to do that I haven’t already done myself. Strong leadership starts with leading by a meaningfully sincere example. This has never been more important than this past year as our team pulled together, performing job tasks they had never done before. In the end, that drew us even further together as a team, while also expanding our knowledge and job skills.
The past year has made us all face change in ways we did not know were possible. What are the tools you use to embrace change and to help your team navigate that change with you? What are you doing to lead important change in your organization and/or Maryland?
While modeling change is typically the first step in its facilitation to team members, this year has brought a fast and furious style that no one was quite prepared for! In this scenario, setting the example on how we actually respond and embrace change is critical to its success.
