In this role, Derbyshire will work closely with the director of training and pro bono and other colleagues in the unit to further grow and enhance Maryland Legal Aid’s Pro Bono Program.

Derbyshire started with MLA as a University of Baltimore School of Law Fellow in 2013. Upon graduation, he joined MLA’s office as a staff attorney. In that role, he assisted clients in CINA, family law, expungement, and other matters. He also served as co-chair of MLA’s Family Law Task Force where he presented on multiple topics, including evidentiary issues and pre-trial practice.

In October 2019, Angus was named pro bono coordinator for MLA. Over the past year and a half, he has created and implemented new initiatives to recruit pro bono attorneys and help them manage their cases.
