As a U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Corps. captain, I. DeAndrei “Dee” Drummond created and implemented a counter-narcotics policy followed by U.S. soldiers during Operation Enduring Freedom IX in Afghanistan.

While his work as a JAG felt most significant, Drummond said he is also proud of his career as an attorney, working to improve the community and society at large.

Drummond, who is vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of TEKsystems, Inc., a flagship Allegis Group, Inc., company in Hanover, has a varied background in law.

He worked as an assistant state’s attorney for Prince George’s County, where he led the county’s first Auto Theft Unit; as a captain in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Corps., he served in Afghanistan, fighting terrorists, helping Afghan citizens build schools and run elections.

“I have always served the community and used my degree to help others. My commitment started when I was in high school and volunteered at Bea Gaddy’s Food Center. … Service became my life.”

Drummond earned his law degree from Boston College Law School in Newton, Massachusetts, and his bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
