Gamble is an adviser and mentor to senior-most business leaders and prioritizes talent development, recruitment and retention in her team.

What advice would you offer someone interested in banking and finance as a career?

Banking and finance offer a wide variety of career opportunities, especially for those interested in working directly with clients. I generally tell recent college graduates that if you can communicate well and have good critical thinking skills, we can teach you the rest of what you need to be successful. Banks still have training programs which make them good places to learn. I have had the opportunity to move between all of the major lines of business in banking and I have never been bored.

What are the biggest challenges facing your industry?

Finding and retaining talented people is always a challenge in the service industries. We are only as good as the people who work here, so talent is a top priority.

What is your favorite part of living in Maryland?

Maryland is a beautiful state with such a diverse landscape. During the pandemic we went to as many state parks as we could, from Calvert Cliffs to the Susquehanna to the Catoctins. No matter what you are looking for, you will find it here. Of course, as a rower, I am partial to the water and there are so many opportunities to enjoy the water from our many rivers to the oceanfront.

The other great benefit to all of our access to the water is the great seafood we have in Maryland!
