THE BELIVEAU GROUP

THE BELIVEAU GROUP

Listen to this article

The Beliveau Group of EXP Realty is a boutique real estate firm serving sellers and buyers in the Baltimore metro area. Founded by Tina Beliveau, the Lutherville company has sold almost 2,000 homes since its inception 20 years ago. The firm is 100% women-owned with eight team members. Beliveau describes real estate as offering “freedom to create your own path.”

What challenges have you faced as a women-owned business?

Although 65% of Realtors are women, most brokerages, franchises and “famous” thought leaders are still male. It frustrates me that women aren’t better represented at the highest levels. Social media has helped shift that, and compared to when I started 20 years ago, there are now many more women to learn from. It’s important to me to be part of that shift and to help empower women from their perspective — and not from the male-centric lens.

How do you support women in your business and community?

Though not intentional, my team has almost always been all female. I’m drawn to mentoring women, especially those new to real estate or returning after raising kids. I also run High Performance Agent Academy, a course and community focused on growth and leadership through a female lens. I’m also a founder of the Baltimore chapter of The Napkin Network. We support moms and babies by sourcing diapers and formula and we conduct ongoing fundraising.

What recent accomplishments are you most proud of?

Personally, becoming a mom at 35, after 15 years of being intensely career-focused, was the best decision I ever made. I wasn’t sure if I wanted kids, but Sami (2) and Austin (almost 4) are truly the lights of my life.

Professionally, I’m proud of my ongoing evolution as a leader. Real estate and entrepreneurship can be a brutal roller-coaster sometimes! I’ve faced dark and difficult times, but I never gave up. I’m especially grateful for the extraordinary women I work with every day.
