On Feb. 25, the Harford County Chamber of Commerce hosted the Minority & Small Business Resource Fair in partnership with the Harford County Department of Economic Development and Harford County Caucus of African American Leaders. The event, sponsored by APG Federal Credit Union, was held at the Converge Center in Aberdeen. Featuring 38 business resource vendors, the fair also included two educational breakout sessions as Tiffanee Blackwell of Tiffanee & Co. Bakery delivered the keynote address. Secretary Walter Simmons, Maryland Department of Economic and Social Mobility, addressed attendees and shared his dedication to supporting local and minority-owned businesses. The Office of Small, Minority, and Women Business Affairs led a workshop for attendees to become small business or veteran-owned business certified, opening up new opportunities for local businesses to work with the state. Event sponsors included Point Breeze Credit Union, Image360 Harford, Paul Applegate, Display Local Media, Harford Bank and Nancy Stuckey Merritt. Attendees included local small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.
