Richard J. Morgan has been elected a director of Howard Bancorp and Howard Bank. Morgan was one of the founders and served as president/CEO of CommerceFirst Bank until its sale to Sandy Spring Bank. He is a past president/CEO of the Anne Arundel County Economic Development Corp. He has held leadership positions in other commercial banks in New York and Maryland and was the vice president of finance and chief financial officer of Phillips Corp. of Columbia, for which he currently provides management consulting services. Morgan served on the Federal Reserve Bank Board of Richmond.
