Man charged after missing Kentucky girl found in MD
Listen to this articleA man was charged after a 13-year-old Kentucky girl, who was missing for two months, was found in Silver Spring, according to a news release from the Montgomery County Police Department.
Christian Delgado, 37, of Silver Spring was charged with kidnapping by the Rockcastle County Sheriff’s Office in Kentucky. He was being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center, where he is awaiting extradition to the commonwealth, officials said.
Montgomery County police officers responded to a tip that the Kentucky girl might be in the area around 5:52 p.m. Dec. 26. Officers and U.S. Marshals deputies found Delgado and the girl inside a home in the 12000 block of Dalewood Drive in Silver Spring.
According to the Rockcastle County Sheriff’s Office, the girl was last seen around 6:15 p.m. Oct. 14. In a Nov. 14 Facebook post, investigators said they were working with the Kentucky State Police, the FBI and the U.S. Marshals.
Investigators conducted “numerous interviews” and “multiple land and drone searches” in the area where she was reported missing. Surveillance footage was also reviewed.
