La-Z-Boy coming to Towson’s Goucher Commons

La-Z-Boy, a prominent manufacturer with several locations in Maryland, recently signed a long-term lease with Urban Edge Properties to open a store at Goucher Commons in .

Goucher Commons, located at 801 Goucher Blvd., is now 100 percent leased following the successful business deal. The new furniture store will occupy 11,605 square feet, according to Urban Edge Properties, a trust based in New York City.

“We are excited to partner with Urban Edge in the relocation of our Furniture Galleries store to Goucher Commons in Towson, Maryland,” said Chris Kiersz, a senior real estate manager with La-Z-Boy Incorporated.

“As one of our six locations servicing the Baltimore market, this location better positions La-Z-Boy to service Baltimoreans at a top shopping center in the area. A grand opening is targeted for later this year, and we look forward to continuing to serve the greater Towson area.” 

La-Z-Boy will be joining Sprouts Farmers Market, DSW, Golf Galaxy, HomeGoods, Ulta, Five Below, Kirkland’s, DXL and Mattress Firm, along with dining options like Bonchon Chicken, Chipotle and Noodles & Company. 

“This new full-service La-Z-Boy furniture store will be adjacent to Sprouts and Ulta and the three will benefit from complementary customer bases,” Urban Edge Properties executive Joshua Birns said. 

“Goucher Commons is home to a combination of essential retail and in-demand dining concepts that provides an ideal location for their expansion, and we expect new customers as well as our local loyalists to be excited for what they offer.” 

La-Z-Boy’s Towson store will be Maryland’s eighth location, joining other sites in Annapolis, , Severn, Owings Mills, Rockville, Bel Air and Waldorf. La-Z-Boy officials have not released details on when the store is expected to open.
